Stephen Green
Stephen Green grew up on the coast of Northern California. He has worked with clay for 17 years. He became intrigued by the clay’s ability to make beautiful forms that were functional as well as sculptural. He studies ceramic theory, technique, and form in California, Houston, and Rhode Island. While living in Southern California he became an active member of the Santa Barbara Sculpture Guild in 2003. It was there that he learned about stone carving. He later received his BFA in Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. He then worked at NASA in Houston doing space vehicle and architecture design. It was during that time he developed new mold making techniques that have pushed his work in new directions. His work has been shown in California, Rhode Island, Houston, and Tokyo.
